Wave of Resignations as Political Appointees Step Down Ahead of Ordinance
Political appointees have begun resigning from their positions as the government prepares to scrap multiple appointments through an upcoming ordinance.

A wave of resignations has begun among political appointees in Nepal, even before the formal introduction of a government ordinance aimed at canceling numerous such appointments.
At Tribhuvan University, Vice-Chancellor Deepak Aryal, Rector Khadga KC, and Registrar Kedar Prasad Rijal have all stepped down from their positions.
Similarly, Hetauda Cement Industry Chairman Narendra Bhandari and Trade and Export Promotion Centre Executive Director Sharad Bikram Rana have also resigned.
The resignations come amid reports that the government is preparing to revoke hundreds of political appointments, and more resignations are expected in the coming days.
