Why Did NEPSE Suspend Beni Securities for Three Working Days?

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended Beni Securities Pvt. Ltd. (Broker No. 93) for three working days for failing to complete the required securities clearing and settlement process within the prescribed timeframe.

CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC) had recommended action against Beni Securities after the brokerage failed to complete the clearing and settlement process within the specified deadline.

Based on a letter issued by CDSC on Bhadra 3, 2083, NEPSE decided to suspend Beni Securities for three working days under Regulation 22(1)(Chha) of the Securities Trading Operation Regulations, 2075.

Clearing and settlement is a critical part of the securities market as it ensures the timely transfer of shares and funds between buyers and sellers after a transaction. Failure to meet the prescribed settlement requirements can affect the smooth operation of the securities market and may result in regulatory action.

Beni Securities is a brokerage firm located in Baneshwor, Kathmandu, and operates under Broker No. 93.
