A YouTuber has been arrested in Panchthar for allegedly producing and publishing abusive and defamatory content targeting Prime Minister Balen Shah and other political leaders.

The accused, Roshan Pokharel, a resident of Phalgunanda Rural Municipality–7, was taken into custody by the District Police Office Panchthar following an investigation led by the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau.

According to authorities, the arrest was made after multiple complaints were filed regarding offensive and insulting content shared on YouTube. Officials stated that the content was deemed harmful and potentially defamatory.

Police have confirmed that further investigation into the case is ongoing, and necessary legal action will be taken based on the findings.
