Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Ltd. (AHPC) is a Nepal-based hydropower firm that develops, owns, and operates run-of-the-river hydro-electric projects.Its flagship project is the 3 MW Piluwa Khola Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha District its first operational plant since 2003. Over time, AHPC expanded: its portfolio now includes multiple projects (either operational or under development), giving it substantial presence in Nepal’s hydropower sector. As of recent years, AHPC and its group companies reportedly control around 79.74 MW of projects (operational + under construction) combining projects developed by AHPC itself and through associate companies. Despite the inherent risks associated with river-flow variability (hydrology risk), project stabilization, and exposure to group-company obligations, AHPC benefits from experienced promoters/management, power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the national utility, and diversified project pipeline. Recently (2024), AHPC successfully resumed operations of its 9.94 MW Kabeli B-1 Cascade Hydroelectric Project (KBHEP) after earlier flood-related shutdown improving its financial stability. In its latest corporate action, AHPC proposed an 8.421% dividend (8% bonus share + 0.421% cash) for fiscal year 2081/82 a sign of continued commitment to shareholders.
