Bhugol Energy Development Company Limited (BEDC) is a Nepal-based hydropower developer committed to producing clean, renewable, and sustainable energy through run-of-the-river hydropower projects. Established on February 16, 2009 as a private company and later upgraded to a public limited company on October 31, 2017, BEDC aims to support Nepal’s growing electricity demand while contributing to national energy independence and rural development. The company operates from its head office located at Thapagaun/Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, overseeing project development, engineering, operation, and environmental management. BEDC’s flagship project, the 3.75 MW Dwari Khola Small Hydropower Project in Dailekh, began commercial production in 2017 and has since become a stable source of hydroelectric supply to the national grid. The company continues to explore and expand its hydropower portfolio by investing in new survey licenses and run-of-river project opportunities across Nepal’s hilly regions.
