Chilime Hydropower Company Limited (CHCL) is one of Nepal’s pioneering and most influential hydropower companies, established to harness the country’s immense water resources for clean and sustainable electricity generation. Incorporated in 1995, Chilime operates under the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and has played a transformative role in expanding Nepal’s hydroelectric capacity. The company’s flagship project, the 22.1 MW Chilime Hydropower Project, located in Rasuwa district, marked a milestone in Nepal’s hydropower development by introducing a new model of community participation and local investment. CHCL has since expanded through its subsidiaries and joint ventures, contributing significantly to national power generation and enhancing energy security. Chilime Hydropower Company is known for its financial discipline, engineering excellence, and strong governance practices. It has developed multiple hydropower projects through subsidiary companies such as Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company Limited, Sanjen Hydropower Company Limited, and Madhya Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company Limited, collectively adding hundreds of megawatts to Nepal’s hydropower roadmap. Listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the symbol CHCL, the company has a broad investor base, including local communities, NEA, and national investors. Chilime focuses on sustainability, community development, environmental protection, and long-term value creation, making it one of the most respected brands in Nepal’s energy sector.
