Dibyashwari Hydropower Limited is a Nepalese hydropower company founded on 2063/10/25 B.S. under the Companies Act 2063, with a vision to harness the country's abundant water resources for clean and sustainable electricity generation. The company transitioned into a public limited company on 2069/07/03, expanding public participation in its renewable energy initiatives. Dibyashwari Hydropower operates its corporate office from Old Baneshwor-34, Kathmandu, Nepal. The company’s first major undertaking was the development of the 4 MW Sabhakhola Hydropower Project, located in Dhupu VDC of Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal. The initial Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of 3.3 MW (3300 kW) was signed with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on 2068/11/17, and after expanding the project capacity, an amended PPA of 4 MW was approved on 2070/08/19. To comply with environmental regulations, the Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) was approved by the Ministry of Energy on 2068/09/04, followed by the approval of the Supplementary IEE on 2071/09/29. Additionally, the company obtained the Energy Generation License from the Ministry of Energy on 2071/12/26, enabling commercial operation of the project.
