Himalayan Hydropower Limited (HHL) is a Nepalese hydropower company registered as a public limited company and listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the ticker symbol “HHL.” The company was originally incorporated on 7 December 2004 as a private limited company and later converted to a public company in 2017 to facilitate public investment. HHL’s core mission is to harness Nepal’s abundant water resources to generate renewable electricity through hydropower projects, contributing to national energy supply and sustainable development. Among its operational assets is the Namarjun Madi Hydropower Project a run-of-river plant with an installed capacity of 12 MW, located on the Madi River in Kaski. According to recent disclosures, this project generated ~93% of its contractual energy requirement in FY 2023 and achieved near-full compliance with its Plant Load Factor (PLF) in early 2024, indicating operational stability post-rehabilitation. HHL completed its IPO and listing on NEPSE in August 2022, issuing 10,950,000 shares to the public with a face value of NPR 100 thereby raising its total paid-up capital to NPR 1.095 billion. All the listed shares are public; no promoter-locked shares remain after the lock-in period ended in 2025. As of November 2025, the company’s market capitalization stands around NPR 3.7–3.9 billion, with a share price fluctuating between NPR 310.70 and NPR 635 over the past 52 weeks reflecting volatility but also signaling investor interest in hydropower as a sector.
