The Kalinchowk Trek, located in Nepal’s Dolakha district in the eastern hills, is a popular pilgrimage and scenic trekking route renowned for the Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple, situated at an altitude of 3,842 meters. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, the temple is believed to fulfill the prayers and wishes of devotees. Along with its religious significance, the trek offers spectacular Himalayan views, including Mt. Gaurishankar, Jugal Himal, Annapurna, and even Everest on clear days. The route reflects Nepal’s rich cultural diversity, with Sherpa, Tamang, Brahmin, and Chhetri communities living in harmony throughout the region. The trail passes through beautiful rhododendron forests and the Gaurishankar Conservation Area, home to diverse birds and wildlife. This area also serves as the origin of the Sunkoshi and Tamakoshi rivers, which later flow into the Koshi—one of Nepal's major river systems. A few hours’ hike from Kuri Village (3,200m) leads to the temple summit, offering a rewarding blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and panoramic Himalayan scenery.
