Mega Mutual Fund -1

Mega Mutual Fund-1 is a closed-end equity-based mutual fund scheme in Nepal. It was issued to the public in 2078 B.S. (2021) when the fund opened for subscription. The scheme issued 10 crore units at a face/par value of NPR 10 per unit but due to oversubscription (over 2.37 times), the fund size was resized to 125% of initial size.The fund is listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under symbol “MMF1”. It is a 10-year closed-end fund meaning its units can be traded on NEPSE, and the scheme has a fixed maturity date (unlocking date around 2031) as per disclosure. As an equity mutual fund, MMF1 aims to give investors exposure to a diversified basket of Nepalese equities and equity-related instruments, with the objective of long-term capital appreciation. According to the fund manager, besides long-term investments in dividend-paying / blue-chip companies, the fund may also allocate a portion (e.g. ~30-35%) of its portfolio to speculative investments to potentially generate higher returns — reflecting a somewhat aggressive/active investment strategy compared to purely passive index-style funds.
