Est. 2043 B.S. (established in 1986 AD as Nepal Indosuez Bank; became Nepal Investment Bank after ownership changes) · Durbarmarg, Kathmandu, Nepal · CEO: Jyoti Prakash Pandey
Originally established in 1986 under the name Nepal Indosuez Bank Ltd., Nepal Investment Bank was born as a joint venture between Nepali and French partners. Over the years, it grew to become one of Nepal’s leading commercial banks, offering a full suite of banking and financial services from retail banking (deposits, loans, savings), corporate banking, trade finance, remittances, to modern digital banking services. In a strategic move reflecting Nepal’s evolving banking landscape and in line with regulatory-driven consolidation, Nepal Investment Bank merged with Mega Bank Nepal Limited. This merger was finalized in January 2023, giving rise to Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited (NIMB).The merger significantly boosted the bank’s scale: the combined entity now has over ₨ 34 billion in paid-up capital, a broad credit portfolio, large deposit base, and a wide branch/ATM/network footprint across Nepal.Through this expanded scale and resources, NIMB aims to serve both retail and corporate clients more robustly, support bigger projects, and deliver banking services with deeper reach — balancing traditional banking strengths with modern banking conveniences. The merger is part of broader consolidation in Nepal’s banking sector to strengthen institutions and improve financial stability. NIMB now stands as a major player in Nepal’s banking industry offering diversified services, significant capital base, and national reach.
