Est. 2012 A.D. (Originally incorporated as NRN Investment Limited; renamed to NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited in 2017) · Kamaladi, Kathmandu, Nepal · CEO: Niranjan Phuyal
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited was established in September 2012 in Kathmandu under the Companies Act of Nepal, originally named “NRN Investment Limited.” In February 2017, the company rebranded to its current name to reflect a broader mandate beyond simple investmentaiming to channel investments from Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) and other stakeholders into priority sectors including infrastructure, hydropower, and diversified development projects. As part of that vision, NRN has invested heavily in hydropower: its portfolio includes several hydropower projects through subsidiaries and partner companies. For example, it holds a stake in Himalayan Power Partner Limited (HPPL), which runs a 27 MW run-of-river project in Lamjung District.Other associated projects include a 28.1 MW scheme under Swet Ganga Hydropower and Construction Limited, and a 14.3 MW project under Mathillo Mailung Khola Jalvidhyut Limited reflecting NRN’s diversified hydropower investments and commitment to leveraging Nepal’s hydro-potential. Beyond hydropower, NRN positions itself as an “investment & infrastructure development” company with a broader portfolio strategy mobilizing capital, often from Nepali diaspora and investors, to support long-term development goals, infrastructure growth, and energy generation capacity in Nepal. The company was listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on 25 August 2020 under the ticker symbol “NRN.” From a financial and investor-perspective, recent data shows that as of late 2025, the company has a paid-up capital of NPR 1.284 billion, with 17,981,212 shares outstanding. Its 52-week trading range on NEPSE has spanned from NPR 930 to NPR 2,444. For the fiscal year 2081/82 (Nepali calendar), the company proposed a dividend of 40% bonus shares plus 2.105% cash dividend a signal of the firm’s attempt to deliver returns to shareholders while balancing reinvestment and project-commitment needs.
