Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited, trading under the more widely known brand name Nepal Telecom (NTC), is the state-owned telecommunications service provider of Nepal and the largest telecom operator in the country.Formally registered under the Companies Act and predecessor to earlier state telecom entities, NTC traces its legal roots back to the corporatization of earlier national telecom operations; the company adopted the name “Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited” after restructuring. NTC offers a comprehensive suite of telecommunications services nationwide: mobile telephony (GSM/4G/LTE), internet services (fixed-line broadband, fiber, wireless), fixed-line telephony, data services, and increasingly value-added services such as IPTV, VoLTE, and digital-service bundles. Over decades it has expanded its infrastructure to reach remote and urban areas alike, playing a central role in connecting Nepal’s population from Kathmandu to far-flung rural regions and supporting national communications, digital inclusion, and connectivity goals. As a publicly listed company on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the ticker symbol “NTC,” NTC is also an investment vehicle for shareholders.Its performance, dividend history, and share-price movements reflect both its market dominance and the challenges inherent in telecom regulatory changes, competition, infrastructure costs, and evolving consumer demand.
