Panchthar Power Company Limited is a Nepalese hydropower company that develops and operates the run-of-river hydroelectric project Hewa Khola A Hydropower Project, located in the Panchthar district. The plant has an installed capacity of 14.90 MW, upgraded from its originally planned 12 MW capacity under its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Since commissioning in 2017, PPCL has been supplying electricity to the national grid via a 132-kV transmission line connected to the grid at the substation in Phidim. The project draws water from the Hewa River, with a head of ~192–221 m depending on the stage, and serves a catchment area of ~208 km² a geography of hills, forest, and tea-garden landscapes typical of eastern Nepal’s hill region. Financially, PPCL is publicly listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), under ticker symbol “PPCL”. The company has issued 9,625,000 shares, with a paid-up capital of NPR 962.5 million. As of late 2025, the share price has shown variability 52-week high near NPR 409.90 and low around NPR 268.00 reflecting typical hydropower-sector risk factors like hydrology variation, seasonal river flows, and maintenance/evacuation challenges. For the fiscal year 2078/79 B.S., PPCL proposed a cash dividend of 7%.
