Synergy Power Development Limited is a Nepal-based independent power producer (IPP) engaged in developing and operating hydropower projects in Nepal. Established on 28 Poush 2063 B.S. and later converted into a public limited company on 12 Poush 2070 B.S. under the Companies Act, SPDL began its hydropower journey with the development of the Sipring Khola Hydroelectric Project in Dolakha district. The Sipring Khola plant has an installed capacity of 10 MW and began commercial operation on 3 Magh 2069 B.S. Over the years, SPDL has expanded its footprint beyond its first project. As of 2025, the company announced fresh investments in two more hydropower projects: Mid Hongu Khola A Hydropower Project and Mid Hongu Khola B Hydropower Project, committing a total of NPR 25 crore towards share acquisition in those ventures reflecting a strategic push to grow its generation capacity and diversify its portfolio. SPDL is publicly traded on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the symbol “SPDL.” Recent financial disclosures show that the company has a paid-up capital of NPR 1,209,862,500 (face value NPR 100 per share) with 12,098,625 shares issued. Market data suggests that SPDL remains among the active mid-cap hydropower firms: as of late 2025, the share’s 52-week trading range is approximately NPR 308.90–465.00, with a recent last-traded price around NPR 421–423. As a hydropower developer, SPDL like many IPPs in Nepal operates under a model where electricity produced is sold to the national utility under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). Its commercial operations, expansion plans, and public shareholding combine to make it a visible player in Nepal’s push toward renewable energy development and private-sector participation in power generation.
