Universal Power Company Limited is a Nepali hydropower developer and operator that was incorporated on 16 Chaitra, 2067 (≈ March 30, 2011) under the Company Act, with the objective of developing and investing in hydroelectric projects across Nepal. Its core project the Tallo Khare Khola Hydropower Project is a run-of-river hydropower plant located in the Dolakha district (Gaurishanker Rural Municipality, wards 5, 6, and 8), with an installed capacity of 11 MW. The company holds the generation license for this plant, and it has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for supply of electricity from this project. UPCL is ISO 9001:2015 certified, demonstrating that it adheres to internationally recognized quality management standards, particularly in “Operation and Maintenance of Hydropower Plants.” As a publicly listed company on Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) under the ticker symbol “UPCL,” the company invites public investment and trades on the open market.
