Balephi Hydropower Cuts Losses as Financial Expenses Decline
Balephi Hydropower’s Q4 results show lower net losses as financial expenses drop, offsetting slightly lower electricity sales revenue.

Balephi Hydropower Limited (BHL) reported a reduction in net losses for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year, according to its preliminary financial statements. The company posted a net loss of NPR 39.39 crore, down from NPR 44.80 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The improvement comes despite a slight decline in electricity sales revenue, which fell from NPR 84.39 crore to NPR 82.90 crore. The key factor behind the reduced loss was a significant drop in financial expenses, which decreased from NPR 76.29 crore to NPR 56.52 crore during the review period.
BHL’s paid-up capital stands at NPR 365.59 crore, while its reserve fund is in the negative at NPR 92.82 crore. As of mid-July, the company’s net worth per share was NPR 74.61.
Analysts say that controlling financial expenses can help hydropower firms partially offset revenue volatility, especially in sectors affected by seasonal electricity demand and regulatory constraints.
