Bandipur Cable Car Launches IPO for Locals and Migrant Workers Starting Today  Nepali:

Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Ltd. has opened its Initial Public Offering (IPO) from July 22, 2025 (Shrawan 6), targeting locals from project-affected areas and Nepali migrant workers employed abroad.

As per regulatory approval, the company is issuing 1.09 million ordinary shares worth a total of NPR 109 million, out of its approved NPR 586 million issuance plan, which is 20.7067% of its total paid-up capital of NPR 2.83 billion.

IPO Allocation Breakdown:

  • 566,000 shares (NPR 56.6 million) have been allocated to locals of affected areas, including:

    • All wards of Bandipur and Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipalities (Tanahun)

    • Ward 1 of Bhanu Municipality

    • Ward 7 of Palungtar Municipality (Gorkha)

  • 529,400 shares (NPR 52.94 million) have been reserved for Nepali citizens working abroad with valid labor approvals from the Government of Nepal.

Application Details:

  • Minimum application: 10 shares

  • Maximum application: 20,000 shares

  • IPO closing date:

    • For locals: Earliest – Shrawan 20 (Aug 4), Latest – Bhadra 4 (Aug 20)

    • For migrant workers: Earliest – Shrawan 9 (July 24), Latest – Shrawan 20 (Aug 4)

The IPO has received a credit rating of CARE-NP BB (Issuer) from CARE Ratings Nepal, indicating moderate risk in fulfilling financial obligations.

The project’s total estimated cost is NPR 3.85 billion, with a simple payback period of 8.22 years and a discounted payback period of 10.5 years.

Nepal SBI Merchant Banking Ltd. is the issue and sales manager.

Local applicants can apply through designated offices in their municipalities, including:

  • Bandipur Gaunpalika Ward No. 4

  • Aanbukhaireni Gaunpalika Office

  • Bhanu Municipality Ward 1

  • Palungtar Municipality Ward 7
    Applicants must pay NPR 2 for the form.

Migrant workers can apply via C-ASBA enabled banks and financial institutions or the Meroshare online platform provided by CDS and Clearing Ltd.
