Bhat-Bhateni Group Donates Rs 95 Million Hospital Building to TU Teaching Hospital
Bhat-Bhateni Group has handed over a Rs 95 million hospital facility to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, built in memory of the founder’s parents.

Kathmandu, July 14, 2025 — In a significant philanthropic gesture, Bhat-Bhateni Group has handed over a newly constructed hospital facility worth Rs 95 million to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). The formal transfer took place on Monday in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the TUTH premises.
The EHS building—financed and built entirely by Bhat-Bhateni—was presented to the hospital by the group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Min Bahadur Gurung. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Gurung shared that the building was constructed in memory of his late father, Mr. Brisha Bahadur Gurung, and mother, Mrs. Dhanmaya Gurung.
“Our aim is to contribute meaningfully to a prosperous Nepal and happy citizens,” Gurung said, emphasizing that the initiative was carried out without expecting anything from the government. “We are committed to serving the nation from the frontlines,” he added.
The new facility is expected to enhance the infrastructure capacity of TU Teaching Hospital, one of Nepal’s premier public healthcare institutions, by accommodating specialized medical units and services. The contribution also underlines a growing trend of corporate social responsibility among Nepal's private sector leaders.
Gurung noted that the donation reflects Bhat-Bhateni’s ongoing commitment to societal development, stating: “We did not wait for the government to act. We took the initiative ourselves.”
This marks one of the largest private sector contributions to public healthcare infrastructure in recent years.
