BYD Hits 13 Million EV Milestone, Celebrates Record Output in China

Shenzhen, China | July 22, 2025 — Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD (Build Your Dreams) has officially rolled out its 13 millionth EV, marking a significant milestone in global sustainable transportation.

The announcement was made during a celebratory event held at the Xiaomo Production Base in the Shenzhen–Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone, where BYD unveiled its milestone EV — the Yangwang U7, a model from its ultra-luxury segment.

In the first half of 2025, BYD reported:

  • 31.5% growth in total EV sales

  • 2.113 million vehicles produced within H1 alone

  • 128.5% surge in international sales, reaching 472,000 units

The company claims it remains the world’s top EV manufacturer by volume, with the Yangwang brand alone surpassing 10,000 units sold, making it China’s first ultra-luxury EV to achieve this scale.

The milestone reaffirms BYD’s aggressive global expansion strategy and solidifies China’s leading role in the clean energy automotive revolution. The company’s exports are accelerating across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, bolstered by high-efficiency battery tech and vertically integrated production.
