Chhyangdi Hydropower Narrows Loss as Power Sales Jump
Chhyangdi Hydropower Ltd. cut its net loss to NPR 49.7 million in FY 2081/82 from NPR 53.7 million a year earlier, as higher electricity sales and lower finance costs offset expenses.
Kathmandu, Aug. 14, 2025 — Chhyangdi Hydropower Ltd. (CHL) reported a narrower loss for FY 2081/82, with net loss shrinking to NPR 49.7 million from NPR 53.7 million in the previous year.
The company’s electricity sales revenue rose to NPR 140.1 million from NPR 99.7 million, while total profit climbed to NPR 108.8 million from NPR 80.3 million. Finance costs dropped to NPR 96.5 million from NPR 103.6 million, helping offset other expenses.
As of mid-July, CHL had a paid-up capital of NPR 386.9 million and retained earnings of negative NPR 206.9 million. The company posted a negative EPS of NPR 12.85 and a net worth per share of NPR 51.42.
