Finance Minister Paudel Urges Locals to Make Bandipur a Premier Tourism Hub as IPO Closes
A day after Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Ltd. closed subscriptions for its IPO, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel said Bandipur’s future as a top destination lies in the hands of its residents

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has called on locals to take ownership in turning Bandipur into a leading tourism destination, emphasizing that “no one else will build Bandipur for you.”
His remarks came just a day after the IPO of Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Ltd. closed on Bhadra 15. Speaking at an event in Kathmandu, Paudel said Bandipur’s journey has been “full of ups and downs,” but is now reviving with fresh energy.
“Bandipur once thrived and later declined, but today it is reviving again. In terms of nature, culture, tourism and social psychology, Bandipur has every ingredient to be an attractive destination. The ultimate decision, however, lies with the residents themselves,” he said.
The finance minister stressed that while the state and development partners can provide support, the decisive factor will be local commitment. Paudel highlighted Bandipur’s untapped potential in mountain tourism and cultural heritage, urging locals to utilize it fully.
“The capacity Bandipur has shown so far is only a fraction of what it truly possesses,” he added, pledging government backing for initiatives that promote tourism, arts and culture through Bandipur.
