Finance Ministry Refutes Reports of Attack on Minister Bishnu Poudel

Nepal’s Finance Ministry has dismissed rumors that Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel was attacked during recent unrest, calling the claims “misleading.”

The ministry issued a statement on Tuesday (Sept. 10 / Bhadra 24) after videos and reports circulated on social media alleging an assault on the minister. “The videos and rumors being spread suggesting an attack on the finance minister are misleading. No such incident has occurred,” the statement said.

The clarification comes amid heightened political tension and widespread demonstrations in the country. Officials emphasized that Minister Poudel is safe and continuing with his responsibilities.

The government urged the public to rely on official sources for information and not to spread unverified claims, which could worsen instability.
