Gold Prices Drop Sharply by Rs. 6,500 per Tola in Nepal

Gold prices in Nepal recorded a sharp decline on the latest trading day, extending recent volatility in the domestic bullion market. The price of fine gold has dropped by Rs. 6,500 per tola, settling at Rs. 275,500 per tola, compared to Rs. 282,000 per tola in the previous session.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), Tejabi gold also followed a similar downward trend. The price of Tejabi gold has decreased to Rs. 274,800 per tola, down from Rs. 281,300 per tola a day earlier, reflecting broad-based weakness across gold categories.

Silver prices have also declined in tandem with gold. The white metal has fallen by Rs. 115 per tola, bringing the current rate to Rs. 4,425 per tola, compared to Rs. 4,540 per tola in the previous trading day.

The decline in domestic bullion prices comes amid fluctuations in the international market, where shifting investor sentiment, currency movements, and global economic signals continue to drive price adjustments. The local market typically mirrors these global trends, resulting in periodic corrections in gold and silver prices.
