Gold prices declined in the Nepalese market on Thursday, even as silver registered a modest gain, reflecting mixed sentiment across the precious-metals segment.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, the rate for hallmark gold fell by NPR 400 per tola, bringing the price down to NPR 248,400. The metal had traded at NPR 248,800 per tola on Wednesday.

Silver, however, moved in the opposite direction. Its price climbed by NPR 60 per tola, reaching NPR 3,280. This compares with Wednesday’s trading level of NPR 3,220 per tola.

The divergence in price movement comes as global precious-metal markets continue to fluctuate amid shifting expectations on interest rates, currency movements, and investor demand for safe-haven assets.
