Gold Surges and Silver Breaks Another Record as Prices Jump Sharply

Nepal’s precious metals market witnessed a sharp upswing on Friday, with both gold and silver recording substantial gains. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold surged by Rs 3,500 per tola to reach Rs 256,600. This marks a notable rise from Thursday’s trading price of Rs 253,100 per tola.

Silver continued its record-breaking trend, advancing by Rs 100 per tola to set a new all-time high of Rs 3,905. The metal had last traded at Rs 3,805 per tola on Thursday. The sustained upward momentum in silver suggests robust demand and heightened investor interest amid global uncertainty.

The simultaneous surge in both metals highlights growing appetite for safe-haven assets, with domestic prices closely tracking international market movements. Analysts expect continued volatility as investors reassess risk sentiment heading into the year-end period.
