Gold prices jumped sharply in Nepal, rising by Rs. 14,600 per tola, while silver also recorded notable gains amid global market strength
Gold and silver prices in Nepal recorded a sharp increase in the latest trading session, tracking gains in the international bullion market.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold surged by Rs. 14,600 per tola to reach Rs. 288,500 per tola. This marks a significant rebound from Tuesday’s rate of Rs. 273,900 per tola.
Silver prices also moved higher, increasing by Rs. 415 per tola to stand at Rs. 4,920 per tola, compared to Rs. 4,505 per tola recorded in the previous trading day.
The recent uptrend follows fluctuations observed over the past few sessions. On Monday, gold was priced at Rs. 275,500 per tola, while silver stood at Rs. 4,425 per tola. Earlier on Sunday, gold was traded at Rs. 282,000 per tola and silver at Rs. 4,540 per tola, highlighting ongoing volatility in the domestic bullion market.
Internationally, gold prices have strengthened, trading at approximately USD 4,600 per ounce, while silver has reached around USD 74 per ounce. The upward movement in global prices, coupled with currency fluctuations and demand dynamics, has directly influenced the domestic market.
Market observers note that continued strength in global bullion prices may sustain upward pressure on local rates in the near term, although volatility is likely to persist.
