Landslide Again Blocks Kathmandu–Muglin Highway at Dhading’s Satkilo
A landslide at Satkilo in Dhading early Thursday blocked the Kathmandu–Muglin road in both directions, hours after a previous slide was cleared.

Kathmandu, Aug 28 (Nepalytix) — Traffic along the key Kathmandu–Muglin highway was disrupted again early Thursday after a landslide struck Satkilo in Dhading’s Thakre Rural Municipality around 3:30 a.m., blocking both lanes.
According to the District Police Office, a landslide had already obstructed the same section of the road late Wednesday night. While vehicles briefly resumed after clearance, a fresh slide in the early hours forced authorities to halt movement in both directions.
Road crews are currently working to remove the debris, officials said. The Kathmandu–Muglin corridor is one of Nepal’s busiest trade and passenger routes, linking the capital with major cities in the Terai and the Indian border. Repeated monsoon-triggered blockages have caused significant delays, highlighting the vulnerability of the highway to recurring landslides.
