Landslide Disrupts Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung

Baglung, July 22 — Due to incessant rainfall, a landslide has obstructed the Baglung section of the Kaligandaki Corridor, a major infrastructure project listed under Nepal’s National Pride Projects.

According to Basanta Pandey, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Baglung, a massive landslide occurred late last night at Dablyang, Ward No. 10 of Baglung Municipality, causing a complete halt to vehicular movement since early morning.

The landslide has also disrupted Chhahare section of the Balewa stretch along the corridor. Efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and restore traffic in coordination with the Kaligandaki Corridor Project authorities.

Furthermore, the Balewa–Kushimsera road, which runs parallel to the corridor, has also been fully blocked, worsening the transportation disruption in the area.

Authorities have urged travelers to avoid the route until further notice as road clearance work continues.
