Last Day to Apply for Nepal SBI Bank’s 7% Debenture Worth NPR 3 Billion

Kathmandu – July 17, 2025
Nepal SBI Bank Limited is closing public applications today for its NPR 3 billion debenture offering, marking the final day for interested investors to subscribe to its 10-year fixed-income instrument carrying a 7% annual interest rate.

The instrument, titled ‘7% Nepal SBI Bank Debenture 2090’, was issued starting June 14 (Ashar 30). Out of the 3 million units issued at a face value of NPR 1,000 per unit, 40% or 1.2 million units (worth NPR 1.2 billion) are allocated for public investors. The remaining 60% is set aside for private placement.

Institutional investors such as mutual funds have a reserved quota of 5% within the public allocation—equating to 60,000 units. Individual applicants must subscribe to a minimum of 25 units, while the maximum is uncapped, allowing applications for the full allotment.

Nabil Investment Banking Limited is acting as the issue and sales manager. Interested investors can apply through the C-ASBA system via MeroShare or through participating banks and financial institutions approved by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

The offering received a credit rating of [ICRANP-IR] AA from ICRA Nepal, reflecting high safety regarding timely servicing of financial obligations. Interest on the debenture will be paid semi-annually after tax deductions, at the end of each fiscal half-year.

This marks a significant opportunity for fixed-income investors seeking steady returns amid limited yield alternatives in the domestic market.
