Nepal Life Pledges Rs 10 Million to Support Pediatric Hospital Construction
Nepal Life Insurance has committed Rs 10 million to support Kathmandu Institute of Child Health’s pediatric hospital project under its CSR program.

Kathmandu, July 15, 2025 — Nepal Life Insurance Company Ltd has announced a contribution of Rs 10 million to support the construction of a specialized children’s hospital under the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH). The funding, provided under the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, marks a strategic partnership with one of Nepal’s leading non-profit health initiatives focused on pediatric care.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on Tuesday between KIOCH’s founding chairperson, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, and Nepal Life CEO Praveen Raman Parajuli at the KIOCH office.
The multi-specialty pediatric hospital, located in Budhanilkantha-7, Kathmandu, is nearing completion. While construction of the main hospital building continues, essential services for children have already commenced, including clinical care and research on pediatric and non-communicable diseases.
“This collaboration will play a transformative role in improving child health in Nepal,” said Nepal Life board director Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal. He added that public-private partnerships like these can help reduce healthcare disparity in remote areas.
CEO Parajuli reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to expanding access to pediatric care nationwide. “We aim to support the construction of well-equipped hospitals in all seven provinces, ensuring that economically disadvantaged children receive specialized treatment from expert physicians,” he said.
Dr. Koirala explained that KIOCH was envisioned as a central hub for all provincial children’s hospitals—focusing on capacity-building, clinical quality, health policy design, and child health system strengthening. He emphasized that the support from a reputable brand like Nepal Life enhances KIOCH’s credibility and motivation.
Under this initiative, the first regional hospital—KIOCH Damak—has already been established and is providing services including OPD, emergency care, inpatient wards, radiology, NICU, PICU, HDU, and modular operation theaters.
The project is positioned as a pioneering model in Nepal’s pediatric healthcare sector and is aligned with national health policy goals.
