Nepal Rastra Bank to Print 43 Million New NPR 1,000 Notes
Nepal Rastra Bank invites international bids to print 43 million new NPR 1,000 notes, with submissions due by October 9.

Kathmandu — Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has initiated the process to print 43 million new NPR 1,000 banknotes.
The central bank today called for international bids, inviting companies interested in producing the notes to submit proposals by October 9, 2025. Submissions must be delivered to NRB’s Banking Department at Thapathali.
Qualified bidders are required to provide a security deposit of NPR 20,000 (or USD 144 / EUR 123 / GBP 107). The selected company will be responsible for the complete process, including note design, printing, and delivery.
This move comes amid the central bank’s ongoing efforts to maintain currency quality and meet rising demand for high-denomination banknotes.
