NEPSE Edges Lower by Nearly 1 Point in Pre-Open Session

NEPSE opened Thursday’s session slightly weaker, with the benchmark index declining 0.92 points in the pre-open period to settle at 2,608.10. The early pullback extends Wednesday’s downturn, when the index had dropped 5.03 points to close at 2,609.03.

The Sensitive Index also recorded a marginal drop of 0.05 points, reflecting subdued early-session sentiment.

Trading activity during the pre-open window involved 59 listed stocks across 90 individual transactions. Total turnover reached NPR 14.31 million, with 34,064 shares changing hands.

Market breadth skewed negative: 37 stocks retreated while only 18 posted gains. Four counters remained unchanged, underscoring a cautious tone as investors approached the final trading day of the week.

Despite being brief, the pre-open session provided an early indication of restrained risk appetite, suggesting investors are closely monitoring market signals following recent volatility.
