On the final trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index edged up by 2.61 points during the pre-open session, closing at 2,797.41. The gain follows a strong performance on Wednesday, when the benchmark rose by 34.61 points to 2,794.78.

According to NEPSE, the sensitive index—tracking large-cap stocks—also rose by 1.06 points in the pre-market phase.

Thursday morning’s early session saw transactions involving 22,667 shares across 58 listed stocks, totaling NPR 12.44 million in turnover through 82 trades.

Out of the 58 traded stocks:

  • 32 registered price gains

  • 21 recorded declines

  • 5 remained unchanged

The pre-open session’s upward momentum signals mild investor optimism ahead of the main market opening. Traders remain focused on the post-policy sentiment and year-end positioning, especially after Wednesday’s significant recovery in key sub-indices.

Further direction will be determined once full trading resumes later today.
