Kathmandu, July 16, 2025 — Nepal’s stock market opened slightly lower on Wednesday, as the NEPSE index declined by 0.59 points, closing the pre-open session at 2,759.58. This minor dip follows Tuesday’s strong close, where the index had surged 34.46 points to end at 2,760.17.

The Sensitive Index also edged down by 0.12 points, indicating minor movements in large-cap stocks.

A total of 89,393 shares were traded during the pre-open session across 108 transactions, representing Rs 22.5 million in turnover. Among the 68 stocks that saw activity:

  • 8 remained unchanged

The market appears to be consolidating after a sharp rebound earlier in the week. Analysts suggest cautious investor sentiment ahead of broader monetary policy implementation and earnings season.
