NMB Bank Launches New Payment Gateway to Strengthen Digital Nepal

NMB Bank has expanded its digital payment infrastructure with the launch of a new card-based online payment gateway, developed in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL). The gateway is designed to simplify and secure digital transactions across Nepal, supporting both physical and online e-commerce businesses.

Through this platform, merchants can accept payments from Visa and Mastercard issued by domestic or international banks, enabling businesses to process transactions from customers within Nepal as well as abroad. The bank believes this expanded capability will help enterprises broaden their commercial reach and accelerate digital adoption.

The payment gateway incorporates 3D Secure technology, requiring OTP or password verification for each transaction. This authentication layer significantly enhances user security, reduces the risk of unauthorized purchases, and provides stronger assurance for consumers and merchants engaging in online transactions.

NMB Bank views this collaboration as an important milestone in promoting e-commerce growth and advancing Nepal’s transition toward a digital economy. By offering a safer and more accessible card-payment option, the bank aims to strengthen digital financial services nationwide. Businesses wishing to integrate the new payment gateway into their online platforms may contact NMB Bank directly.

NMB Bank currently operates 202 branches, 184 ATMs, and 9 extension counters across the country, delivering a wide range of financial services.
