PM Intervenes in Trunk & Dedicated Tariff Dispute
PM Sushila Karki intervenes to resolve the tariff dispute after NEA cuts power to 23 industries.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stepped in to mediate a dispute between the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and industrial consumers over unpaid trunk and dedicated electricity tariffs. The issue escalated after NEA disconnected power supply to 23 industries, citing delayed payments of additional premium charges.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, PM Karki convened a meeting on Monday with Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and affected industrial representatives to discuss possible resolutions. Industry stakeholders argue that they should not be liable for the charges, claiming they have not utilized the electricity services.
The government aims to resolve the conflict through dialogue, ensuring uninterrupted industrial operations while addressing NEA’s billing concerns.
