SEE Examinations Begin Nationwide with Over 512,000 Students Appearing

The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the 2082/2083 academic session has officially commenced across Nepal, marking a key milestone in the country’s academic calendar.

The examinations began at 8:00 AM with the Compulsory English paper, conducted simultaneously at 1,965 centers across all 77 districts. According to the National Examination Board (NEB), a total of 512,421 students from 11,379 schools are participating in this year’s exams.

The candidate pool reflects a near-balanced gender distribution, with 257,613 female students and 254,801 male students appearing for the examinations, indicating continued progress in educational access and inclusion.

To ensure smooth and disciplined conduct, the government has deployed approximately 73,500 personnel nationwide. This includes more than 12,500 security officers and 1,965 center chiefs, highlighting a coordinated effort to maintain examination integrity.

A key highlight this year is the government’s “Fast-Track Results” initiative. Education Minister Sasmita Pokharel has directed authorities to decentralize the answer sheet evaluation process, allowing answer sheets to be checked within respective regions. The move is aimed at accelerating the publication of results, with officials targeting completion within one month after the exams conclude.

Authorities have reported a smooth and orderly start to the examinations and have encouraged students to approach the remaining papers with confidence, discipline, and integrity.

The SEE remains one of Nepal’s most significant national examinations, often serving as a critical academic and psychological milestone for students transitioning to higher secondary education.
