Suryakunda Hydro Electric to Issue 572,431 IPO Shares for General Public from Magh 18
Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited is set to open its IPO for the general public from Magh 18, 2082, issuing 572,431 unit shares at a par value of Rs. 100. The issue will be managed by Kumari Capital Limited.

Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited (SKHEL) has announced the issuance of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) for the general public starting from Magh 18, 2082. The company will issue shares at a par value of Rs. 100 per unit.
The IPO will close early on Magh 21, 2082. However, if the issue is not fully subscribed by then, the deadline will be extended until Falgun 3, 2082.
The company’s total issued capital stands at Rs. 68.96 crore, out of which 20 percent (13,79,350 unit shares) is being offered to the public. Earlier, 10 percent (6,89,675 unit shares) worth Rs. 6.89 crore had already been issued to project-affected locals of Nuwakot district.
From the shares allocated to the general public, 10 percent (68,967 units) have already been reserved for Nepalese citizens working abroad. Additionally, 2 percent (13,793 units) have been set aside for the company’s employees, while 5 percent (34,484 units) are allocated for mutual funds.
After these allocations, the remaining 572,431 unit shares will be available for the general public.
The IPO issuance is being managed by Kumari Capital Limited. Investors can apply for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 50,000 units.
CARE Ratings Nepal Limited (CRNL) has reaffirmed the issuer rating of ‘CARE-NP BB- (Is)’, indicating a moderate risk of default. The company’s long-term bank facilities have also been rated ‘CARE-NP BB-’, while short-term bank facilities carry a ‘CARE-NP A4’ rating.
Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited was initially incorporated as a private limited company and later converted into a public limited company on July 6, 2023. The company has been operating the 11 MW Upper Tadi Khola Hydropower Project since July 28, 2025, located in Dupcheswor Rural Municipality of Nuwakot district, under the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer) model.
