Tribhuvan University to Resume Classes Only After Chhath Festival on Kartik 11
TU has postponed academic activities until Kartik 11, citing the nationwide unrest triggered by the Gen-Z movement.

Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced that all teaching activities will remain suspended until Kartik 11, 2082 (after the Chhath festival) due to the prevailing nationwide unrest.
In a notice released today, TU’s Information and Public Relations Division confirmed that classes scheduled for Bhadra 29, 30, 31; Ashwin 1, 2, and 5; and Kartik 9 have been canceled.
“The prevailing situation in the country has made it impossible to operate regular classes. Therefore, teaching activities will resume only from Kartik 11, with adjustments made by reducing winter vacation,” the notice stated.
The decision follows weeks of disruption caused by the Gen-Z protests, which have brought educational institutions across Nepal to a halt. With campuses nationwide affected, it may take additional time for normal academic operations to stabilize.
