US Dollar Hits Fresh Record in Nepal; Other Currency Rates Updated
The US dollar climbed to a new record against the Nepali rupee on Wednesday, while Nepal Rastra Bank updated exchange rates for major global currencies.

The US dollar strengthened to a fresh record against the Nepali rupee on Wednesday, reflecting continued pressure on the domestic currency.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the selling rate of the US dollar reached NPR 145.95, surpassing the previous record set a day earlier at NPR 145.48. The buying rate for the greenback was fixed at NPR 145.35.
The central bank also published updated exchange rates for other major international currencies. The euro was quoted at NPR 170.86 for buying and NPR 171.56 for selling, while the UK pound sterling stood at NPR 195.02 and NPR 195.83, respectively. The Swiss franc was set at NPR 182.55 on the buying side and NPR 183.31 on the selling side.
Among Asia-Pacific currencies, the Australian dollar traded at NPR 96.44 (buying) and NPR 96.84 (selling), while the Canadian dollar stood at NPR 105.48 and NPR 105.92. The Singapore dollar was quoted at NPR 112.70 for buying and NPR 113.17 for selling.
The Japanese yen (per 10 units) was fixed at NPR 9.38 for buying and NPR 9.42 for selling, while the Chinese yuan traded at NPR 20.64 and NPR 20.72. Middle Eastern currencies also edged higher, with the Saudi riyal quoted at NPR 38.75 (buying) and NPR 38.91 (selling), and the Qatari riyal at NPR 39.77 and NPR 39.93.
Nepal Rastra Bank set the Thai baht at NPR 4.61 for buying and NPR 4.63 for selling, while the UAE dirham traded at NPR 39.58 and NPR 39.74. The Malaysian ringgit stood at NPR 35.58 (buying) and NPR 35.72 (selling). The South Korean won (per 100 units) was fixed at NPR 9.85 and NPR 9.90.
Among Nordic currencies, the Swedish krona was quoted at NPR 15.61 (buying) and NPR 15.67 (selling), while the Danish krone stood at NPR 22.87 and NPR 22.96. The Hong Kong dollar traded at NPR 18.68 and NPR 18.76.
High-value Gulf currencies also recorded elevated levels, with the Kuwaiti dinar quoted at NPR 474.05 for buying and NPR 476.01 for selling. The Bahraini dinar stood at NPR 385.54 and NPR 387.14, while the Omani riyal was set at NPR 377.53 (buying) and NPR 379.09 (selling).
